Congratulations on your new job and wishing you a long and happy career in teaching.
The NUT is a source of advice and information for you to access anytime you have a query or problem about your pay and conditions of service in school. Check out your membership card for your first local port of call. You can also contact the division secretaries who deal with issues across the whole County.
If you are unable to get in contact with any local officers then the regional office details are also on this site and on the back of the newsletter.
There are six local associations of the National Union of Teachers in Norfolk. You will be a member of the association that covers the area your school is in. You are also able to join the local association that covers where you live so if it is more convenient to attend meetings closer to home rather than school then please contact the relevant local association to find out how to do this.
If you have any queries about your new school life (for example NQ time, induction issues, PPA) then please contact
Kendra Deacon (Young Teachers' Representative and Assistant Division Secretary - covering the West and Primary Schools) kendradeacon@yahoo.co.uk or 01945 475266
Mike Smith (Assistant Division Secretary covering Secondary Schools) mike_billysmith@lineone.net
Tony Mulgrew (Division Secretary covering everything!) norfolknut@aol.com or 01362 637292
Please go to the Young Teachers' page for more more detail about your rights and conditions of service.
The NUT also offers training - see the training section on this website as well the national website www.teachers.org.uk
